This is a unique opportunity to gain a real insight into the rural outdoor life in Egypt. You will see the farmers working the fields and the women making bread in the villages. You will also see the spectacular wild life, in particular the herons, kingfishers, alligators and mongoose along the canals and the River Nile. Experiencing sunset in the desert by Habu Temple is a lifetime experience not to be missed. All of this from the back of one of our safe and comfortable forward going horses on a ride that is tailor made to suit your requirements.
Description
Itinerary
We offer horseback rides from 1 - 4 hours through the local countryside , farmland, villages and up to the desert. Our shorter rides ( 1-2 hours) will take you through the serene and beautiful sugar cane and banana fields and through the local villages. You will see the farmers working the land and observe the amazing wildlife. These rides will also take you along the banks of the River Nile.
Our longer rides (3-5hours) will take you through the villages and up into the desert. You can visit the Christian Monastery or the magnificent world-famous Temple of Medinet Habu or Hatshepsut. On these rides you can pass the Statues of Memnon and the Ramesseum.
One of the highlights of our longer rides is to be able to watch the spectacular desert sunsets and sunrises from horseback from the top of the sand dunes.
Our horses are suitable for all ability of rider and we provide an experienced and professional guide who has excellent local knowledge and who will offer instruction to less experienced riders.
We provide hard hats and we are the only stables in Luxor operating under a government licence.
