Stop At: Swayambhunath Temple, Swayamhu Circle Road, Kathmandu 44620 Nepal
Swayambhunath Stupa is another Buddhist pilgrimage site of Nepal enlisted in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is accessible from two entrances. The first entrance is an inclined walk to the top and the other is around the hill which is an easy ride in a vehicle. As being a Buddhist pilgrimage site, it consists of many Hindu temples around the hilltop showing the harmony of both religions. On the way to the Stupa, you can see many shrines and vendors with similar collections of mementos along with monkeys roaming around freely. At the top, you will see a big stupa with prayer wheels around it and a large gold-plated thunderbolt right at the east entrance.

After your Swayambhunath visit, you will come across a park called Amideva Buddha Park. There are big statues of Shakyamuni Buddha in the park with many other smaller religious and architectural components distributed in the park.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Nepal. In Kathmandu Durbar Square, you will see that many historical and architectural buildings and many of them are under construction. However, there are many explorable places around the area. You will see many statues of various deities like Kal Bhairav, Hanuman, and also a miniature model of Pashupatinath temple near the vicinity. Also, you can explore the Kumari Ghar where the living goddesses of Nepal are located.

Go to the Kumari Chowk and visit the chowk with its three-level construction. It is the red-bricked courtyard where the living goddesses resides. Kumari is a Newari girl chosen to be the living god until she reaches puberty.

The Patan Durbar Square is the courtyard of the historic Malla palace at Lalitpur. It is a treasure chest of Newari architecture. The durbar square is layered with crimson bricks on the floor. The durbar square can be divided into three courtyards which are Sundari Chowk, Mul Chowk, and Keshav Narayan Chowk. Each of these Chowks has its distinctive features. Sundari Chowk has various statues and stoned architecture. Mul Chowk has many sculptures and statues; thus, it is guarded due to the danger of thievery. Keshav Narayan Chowk is the museum of Patan Durbar Square. You will see many things related to historic civilization.

Heading on to the main site, you will see the amazing stone architecture of Krishna temple. You can see 21 shrines in the temple with carvings related to Ramayana and Mahabharat. There is a large bell near the Krishna temple. Other than Krishna temple, you can see other architectural beauty like Shankar Narayan Temple with statues of kneeling elephants, large sculptures of animals like lions on each side of entrances gates in most of the places, Rudravarna Mahavihar, Mahaboudha, and Machhendranath Temple.

The durbar square offers many enchanted sites as a 55-window palace, Nyatapola temple, statues of several kings, Dattatreya temple and many more. As you enter the city, the gates are ornamental with various carvings in them and be sure to try the local curd of Bhaktapur before leaving the city as it is famous all over the surrounding region.

Nyatapola Temple is a superbly sculptured pagoda-style five leveled roofed temple. It is one of the tallest pagodas and shows a beautiful instance of the high. Boudhanath Stupa is one of the greatest mandalas of Nepal. It is 36 meters tall with over 50 gompas constructed around its vicinity. It is one of the main and most integral Buddhist pilgrimage destinations of Nepal for the spiritual and tourism purpose. As being enlisted in the World Heritage Site, the stupa is highly preserved with a serene environment and clean surroundings. As you enter the premises of the Boudhanath, you will see a large dome with prayer flags crisscrossing everywhere.
