Stop At: Katara Cultural Village, Doha Qatar

State of Qatar has long been a melting pot of cultures. With a staggering array of cultural venues, including museums, galleries and public art, Qatar offers a potent mix of tradition and modernism. Spelled in the ancient manner, Katara is a self-styled cultural village nestled between the gleaming financial district of West Bay, and the half-moon towers of The Pearl residential neighbourhood. Bordered by a vast beach on one side, and the twin Katara Hills on the other, Katara is Doha’s go-to destination for art, culture and cuisine. In no particular order, these are the top things to do here.

Stop At: The Pearl Island, Doha 7256 Qatar

The name "The Pearl" was chosen because the island is being built on one of Qatar's previous major pearl diving sites. Qatar was one of the major pearl traders of Asia before the Japanese introduced cheaper more affordable pearls just before Qatar's oil boom. The Pearl-Qatar helps to represent Qatar's rich past in the pearl industry. The Pearl is said to resemble a string of pearls.

A Riviera style man-made island developed in an exclusive enclave of Doha. It is the Middle East's most glamorous address, covering 400 hectares of reclaimed land and Qatar's first international urban development venture.

Stop At: Lusail, Lusail

Lusail is a planned city in Qatar, located on the coast, in the southern part of the municipality of Al Daayen. Lusail is located about 23 kilometres north of the city centre of Doha, just north of the West Bay Lagoon, on over 38 square kilometres and will eventually have the infrastructure to accommodate 450,000 people. Of these 450,000 people, it is estimated that 250,000 or fewer will be residents, 190,000 will be office workers and 60,000 will be retail workers

A century old traditional market on the bank of Wadi Musheireb, Souq Waqif feels like anachronism, particularly against the backdrop of Doha's dramatic modernist Skyline.

Stop At: The Corniche, Doha Qatar

One of Doha's most iconic attractions, the Doha Cornice is a seven-kilometer stretch of gorgeous promenade overlooking the serene waterfront. With a semicircle shaped walkway around the Doha Bay.
