Description

Itinerary

We will meet at the Zion National Park Visitors' Center before riding the Park Shuttle to the Zion National Park Lodge. Our hike will begin just behind the Lodge Shuttle Stop along the Grotto Trail toward the West Rim Trail. Once at the trail, we will have an incredible view of Angels Landing from the Bridge before merging with the Kayenta Trail. This scenic trail takes us along a ridge of Kayenta sandstone toward the middle emerald pools. Along the Kayenta Trail, we will have many opportunities to take in the scenery, pose for photos, and discuss some of the plants and medicinal herbs we encounter. Once at the middle pools, we will hike the .3 mile (one-way) trail to the upper emerald pools. Hanging gardens, fallen sandstone boulders, and natural springs await at the upper pool. After completing the hike, we stop at the Zion Lodge lawn for a *charcuterie board picnic. *Charcuterie Board Picnic can be made Vegan, Vegetarian, Pork Free, or Gluten Free with 48 hours notice.
