Guided Ascent to the Villarrica Volcano from Pucón
The Villarrica Volcano is the most active in Chile! It has an open crater, it emits gases permanently and depending on its activity it is possible to see magma inside its crater. It is ideal for mountaineering, for beginners or for experienced people. The view from the summit (at 2847m) is impressive and allows you to see several lakes and volcanoes.
When the volcano is covered in snow, the descent is done with sleds and it is possible to slide down the entire volcano sitting down. It is a unique experience that cannot be found on any other mountain in the world!
Since November 8, 2022, the Villarrica volcano has been on yellow alert, due to increased activity, therefore there is a restriction on arrival at the summit, and it is only authorized to reach 2300m in height (you cannot reach the crater for now. March 2023)
