Walking tour of historic Old Nashik and Panchwati
Nashik, India
Nashik is a treasure trove of amazing temples, wadas (old housing complexes) beautiful riverside promenades, iconic century-old eateries and beautiful museums situated in 19th-century buildings. Famously known as Dandakaranya in the past where Lord Ram spent some time in his exile, the city boasts temples and sites dedicated to Ramayana at every nook and corner in the old area.
Unfortunately, tourists know only one side of Nashik that is wine tourism. They hardly visit the old part of the city lest the intricate mesh of the tiny lanes which take you to the medieval temples and colonial buildings still standing tall to tell their stories.
This walking tour takes you to all such beautiful places which can only be accessed on foot and with a knowledgable local. At Nashik Heritage Trails we make sure we provide you the most authentic information introducing you to the most beautiful city we have known!
We partner with locals to give you an authentic experience of Nashik.

Stop At: Kalaram Temple Road, Nashik 422003 India
The walking tour starts at the iconic Kala Ram Temple, which is a very famous landmark in Nashik. Generally, the guests are requested to hire a cab or a rickshaw to reach the starting point, as bringing a vehicle to the old city area is a hassle. Call cab/rickshaw services like Ola and Uber are easily accessible throughout the city. We can arrange for a pickup and drop at extra charges from the hotel if the guest is more comfortable with that.
We have designed this walking tour keeping the terrain in mind. We take you through the network of narrow lanes and show you hidden temples and century-old houses that can only be accessed on foot.
After the tour is over, the guests who want to spend some more time in the old area shopping can do so.
