It is the "Kilometre 0" of the ancient Roman city. Here you can see one of the most important archaeological sites in Europe.

The central market is located in an ancient trading area, as it is on the same spot where the Arab souk of ancient Balansiya once stood.
Today, the almost 8000m2 of commercial space is one of the largest covered markets in Europe.

The second tower that remained standing after the wall was demolished in 1865. It was used as a prison while the wall was being demolished, which is why it is still standing. Today you can still see the cannon marks left by the various wars in its wake.
