Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1: Xining---Shachong Monastery---Rebkong(Tongren) (2160m) 180km / 3hrs.

Stop At: Xiaqiong, Tongren County, Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, China, 811399
You will go from Xining to Shachung Monastery, which is located on a mountain top and has a great view of the Yellow River. Afterwards, we'll drive to Repkong. Repkong is home to 3 large Tibetan Buddhist monasteries and is famous across Tibet for its artists. You will see beautiful views driving along the Yellow River.

Stop At: Tongren County, Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai, China
Once in Rebkong visit Shanggeshong Mago, oday well known as artists' village in Rebkong; they were established in the 15th18th centurices. Afterward, we will visit Rongwu monastery, the biggest monastery in Rebkong and home to more 400 monks today. Stay overnight in Rebkong.

Stop At: Hualong County, Hualong County, Qinghai
Visit Shachong monastery on the way to Rebkong. Visit Tibetan villages, temples and monks daily life.

Day 2: Day 2: Rebkong—Gangya Grassland - Labrang (Xiahe) (2800m) 120kms / 2hrs

Stop At: Labrang Monastery (Labuleng Si), Lapuleng Town, Xiahe County 747100 China
Early morning we will drive to Labrang through the famous grassland of Gyanga to Labrang. Labrang Monastery is one of the six major Tibetan monasteries of the Gelugpa order of Tibetan Buddhism. It used to be home to over 4000 monks and today there are over 1500 monks. Many important religious events have been held in Labrang Monastery through the years. If time allows its worth while to take the Kora. We will overnight in Labrang.

Day 3: Day 3: Labrang—Takstang Lhamo(Langmusi) (3300m) 210kms / 3-4hrs

Stop At: Langmusi, Luqu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu, China, 624504
Today we will drive to Takstang Lamo through the rolling grassy plateau;there are thousands of yaks and yak hair tents along the road to Takstang Lamo. It is a very beautiful village surrounded by green forest and rocky mountains. It is an excellent place for hiking and riding horses on day trips to visit nomad families and to have lunch with a nomad family. Once arrived there you can visit the monastery and hike up the gorge. You will spend the night in Takstang Lamo.

Day 4: Day 4: Takstang Lhamo ( Horseback Riding Day Trip)

Stop At: Langmusi, Luqu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu, China, 624504
Takstang Lamo is a rural Tibetan village located among steep grassy meadows, surrounded by snow capped peaks and grassy hills; there are many monastery buildings and numerous possibilities for hiking and horse trekking. It’s a wonderful place to relax. You can take a horse riding day trip to visit local nomads and taste traditional Tibetan food with a nomad family; in the afternoon you will ride back to town for the night.

Day 5: Takstang Lhamo - Mt.Mandza - Zoige grassland - The First Bend Of Yellow River

Stop At: Zoige County, Zoige County, Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan
Visit grasslands and experience beauties of opened grassland, Drive to Mt.Mandza area and Tibu areas to looking for wildlife. Wolf, fox, vulture, eagle, pika, marmot and birds. Zoige grassland is the second largest grassland in China and home to Tibetan nomads.

Day 6: Taste Tibetan nomads culture

Stop At: Zoige County, Zoige County, Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan
We arrange one day to taste local Tibetan nomads culture. So I will arrange tents and mattress for you and you can camp just next to their tents. Witness nomad women milk yaks and join them to cook yak cheese and make yak butter. If you are interested you can also join them to collect yak dungs.

Day 7: Tangke Town - Chongchu grassland - Barkham(Ma'erkang) 265kms/ 4-5hrs

Stop At: ABa ZangZu QiangZu ZiZhiZhou MaErKang BuXingJie (Pedestrian Street), No.21 Chonglie Street, Barkam County China
We will drive to Barkham (Ma'erkang) via Chongchu grassland. The beautiful grasslands filled with yaks and nomads.
Once arrive in Barkham, you will visit Tibet Gyarong villages and towers in Barkham area. If the time allowed, our guide and driver will drive you to Bharkham Vairozana meditation caves. It's a beautiful place in the hiding valley to experience Tibet Buddhism.

Day 8: Barkham to Chengdu via Wenchuan 350kms/ 5-6hrs

Stop At: Chengdu, Chengdu, Sichuan
Drive to Chengdu via Wenchuan, there are about 350 kilomters to Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province. Once arrive in Chengdu visit Jingli street and Wuhou street. Taste of famous Sichuan food.

Day 9: Chengdu Airport

Stop At: Chengdu, Chengdu, Sichuan
Our driver and guide drive group to Chengdu Airport and help group to check out through check points. End your pleasant journey in eastern Tibet.
