We will do a guided visit to the most important Archeological site of Oaxaca, visiting the best spots, exploring and learning about the culture and life style of our ancestors; walking with no rush around this UNESCO site you will have time to enjoy and take beautiful photos.

We visit a small cooperative of native weavers making wool Rugs where we will enjoy a big demostration of natural dyes by a Zapotec family.
In this town we can find many workshops but not all of them work with natural dyes, something it's really important to preserve the culture, the original tradition and to take care of the environment. We will learn also about the life style and cosmovision of the indigenous families.

Located in this pretty and clean Tule Town with a beautiful Garden.

We will experience Oaxacan Art visiting a family workshop led by natives. These colorful & Fantasy animals made of wood hide mysticism behind them. We will see the whole process since they are carved until they are painted with beautiful zapotec symbols on them. You can also figure out which is your protector or spiritual animal!

Stop At: Cuevas Prehistoricas de Mitla, San Pablo Villa de Mitla 70430 Mexico
The first corn seeds of America continent were found here. A hike on a mountain visiting a complex of five prehispanic caves where we are able to see petroglyphs in red color, white and black; figures like hands, people hunting, stars, the sun, spirals, corncobs etc. Following the rules of the community we do the visit by the hand of a native guide.

This type of pottery is more decorative, not utilitarian. We will experience how people work with the black pottery and see how they still use the prehispanic lathe to make classic, modern and master pieces. All the decoration and brightness on the pieces is made by hand! People is so proud about what they do so we can ask questions and take photos freely.

As the saying goes “The Mezcal doesn’t get you drunk, get you magical” And the best way to have a it is going to a Distillery, see the process, learn about the different types of Agave plants and the most important, try all of them! Over the east side of Oaxaca city we can discover big fields on Agaves and traditional distilleries.

After Monte Alban was abandoned, Mitla city was considered the most important place in the Central Valley of Oaxaca due to its economy, political and militar power. We will do a guided visit through the beautiful Architecture and the amazing decoration we can find on walls. Mitla was architecturally designed against earthquakes.

The Market day is an old traditions that never passed away in Oaxaca.
People from the differents towns and regions of oaxaca come to this place to do the grossery or to sell their local products like fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers, souvenirs, traditional clothes, food or even live animals!
Market days are definitly a place where you can experience the real life of a town. We recommend this one specially to try the meat hall and the Goat or sheep Barbacoa. IT'S ONLY SUNDAYS.

BEEWAX CANDLES
An old traditions almost forgotten in this town.
These organic candles were made for special celebrations, like weddings, town festivals, catholic masses etc. The most specially one was to ask the hand of a native woman. Nowdays are still made in the artisanal way using beeswax making candles for decoration like flowers, cactus, sculptures, with aroma, etc

A small village with an old tradition.
We visit a small group of women to see how they work with the backstrap loom in their patio. Compare to other textiles, these ones are more utilitarian, making table runners, purses, placemats, coasters, shoulder bags, bracelets, belts, straps for guitars, sunglases or cameras.
