The Pocinho Bridge, as it is commonly called, is located in Foz Côa and served as a link between the banks of the Douro in the region. It opened in 1909 and became inactive 79 years later, in 1988.
It is a bridge of mixed structural system that serves, on the upper deck of the railway between Pocinho and Duas Igrejas (in the Municipality of Moncorvo), and on the lower deck of road connection for the circulation of cars.
It is considered a historic-cultural landmark, in an isolated and rural context, with a fantastic view that is worth visiting!

The Viewpoint has the shape of a corridor that widens into a steep place, and has the advantage of having interpretive tables that allow visitors to better understand what they are observing around them.

This viewpoint owes its name to the veneration of Santa Luzia, which is located in the Aldeia Nova Chapel, in the heart of the city's historic centre.

Côa Valley Museum and Archaeological Park
The Côa Museum, opened in 2010, has had more than 300,000 visitors since its opening.
It is part of the Côa Valley Archaeological Park and is located between the junction of the Côa and the Douro.
It is an archaeological and rock art museum, predominantly Paleolithic, dating back more than 25,000 years, with an immense open-air gallery that offers guided tours of the Park, using specialized guides and by appointment.

Castelo do Castelo Melhor
Classified as a property of public interest, this castle is located in a place of great importance for military strategy at the time of the reconquest.
It was ordered (re)built in the 13th century by Alfonso VII of León and Castile in order to protect the top of a hill.
Less than a century later, in 1297, the fortress became part of the territory of the Portuguese crown of D. Dinis, who ordered the reinforcements of the defenses.
At the time of the Restoration War, already in the 17th century, it was adapted to the use of artillery, but in the following centuries its importance in defense decreased and it was progressively abandoned.
It should be noted that this land was already occupied by a castro founded by the Turdules from the pre-Roman period.

This castle was fortified in 3000 BC, through the construction of two lines of walls, at the time of the Chalcolithic – Copper Age – and was reoccupied in the Bronze Age, having undergone some changes in this period.
It is located on a schist spur overlooking the secondary valleys of the Douro and Côa rivers, presenting natural defense conditions.
This site of high archaeological value began to be researched in the early 1980s and its excavations were conducted from 1989 onwards.
From an early age, it showed signs of being one of the most important villages in the Northwest of the peninsula, as it was a community center of identity reference for the agro-pastoral populations that lived around the place.
The estate removed from the site can be visited at the Freixo de Numão Museum, installed in Casa Grande.

Viewpoint of Mata dos Carrascos
500m from the parish of Santo Amaro, the Miradouro da Mata do Carrasco is located in a privileged area that allows you to observe the entire surrounding region, in what is considered to be “an authentic balcony over the Douro and Veiga de Foz valleys. Côa”.
From this viewpoint it is possible to see the municipality of Torre de Moncorvo, Vila Nova de Foz Côa, the bridge and the Pocinho dam.
This viewpoint was recently acquired by the Municipality, which increased and improved it in terms of infrastructure.

The occupation of this territory dates back to prehistory, in the Neolithic period and it is believed that there was a Lusitanian fort in this place. The Castle of Numão, in turn, has its first reference in the year 960.
It is a typical mountain castle, which stands on a rocky hillock at 677 meters above sea level, with Romanesque and Gothic elements.
It has a vast walled perimeter, probably built in the Low Middle Ages, having suffered several occupations at the time of the Muslim invasion of the Iberian Peninsula, and later in the Christian Reconquest.
It underwent some reforms during the initial reigns, but in the 16th century it was in a state of degradation and ruins.
Classified as a National Monument in 1910, it was restored in 1940 and is one of the most emblematic monuments in the region of Vila Nova de Foz Côa.
Its interpretive center was opened in 2013 and tells stories and legends of the parish of Vila Nova de Foz Côa as well as its Castle.

With a superb 360-degree view of its numerous mountain ranges, the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora do Viso, rebuilt in the 19th century, is at an altitude of 813m.
