Karnak Temple on the East Bank of Luxor is the largest temple complex in Egypt to which no less than 30 pharaohs contributed.
The complex is possibly the largest religious structure in the world. Karnak is distinguished from other temples in that it was built for so long by successive pharaohs. Construction began in the Middle Kingdom under Senusret I, about 1900 BC, although the largest buildings date from the New Kingdom. 30 Pharaohs participated in the entire project. Especially the size and number of buildings of Karnak is overwhelming. The guide will show you the most interesting and important places.
