Head to the first destination of the day, the historical city of Girona, where the relics of its Roman and medieval past coexist with the present, offering an image full of contrasts.

Wander along its labyrinth of narrow streets and to travel back in time to the best preserved Jewish district of Europe.

Within the Old Force of the city, stroll down the Jewish Quarter, one of the most emblematic spaces. Get lost in a maze of alleyways and patios that keep the aura of medieval times. It is one of the best preserved Jewish quarters in the world and an evident example of the importance of the Jewish culture in Girona.

Stop At: Girona Cathedral, Placa de la Catedral, s/n, 17004 Girona Spain

In the Força Vella, the Old Force, admire the Girona Cathedral, located at the highest point of the city.

Built between the 11th and 19th centuries, it includes various walls and spaces in different architectural styles, from a Romanesque monastery to a Baroque façade.
Its most striking feature is the large Gothic nave which, with a width of 22 meters (72 ft), is the largest of its kind in the world.

Stop At: Onyar River, Girona Spain

Marvel the colorful façades of the houses on the shores of the Onyar River that flows through the city and engenders this warm atmosphere of colored houses and symbolic image of Girona.

You will enjoy various and beautiful panoramic views, either from the various bridges that cross Onyar river or from the top of the medieval walls of the city.

One of the bridges was designed by the famous Gustave Eiffel in 1877. The modern feel of the ironclad Eiffel Bridge contrasts sharply with the old buildings of the city.

Before heading the Costa Brava, make a stop in the peaceful nature of Pals.
The ancient medieval town of Pals, once a fortress, is full of idyllic cobblestone streets and squares.

From its towers and viewpoints, enjoy the best views of the Mediterranean Sea.
Admire Pals' beautiful green fields, the plains of the Empordà that stretch on the horizon.

Stop At: Playas de Calella, Calella de Palafrugell, Palafrugell Spain

Contemplate the greenery of the mountains, the steep relief of the coast and the small villages of whitewashed houses.
Make a stop in Calella de Palafrugell, a small and traditional fishing village that still remains very charismatic, before exploring the surroundings.

Not far away Calella, take the opportunity to discover the less explored nooks of the region thanks to the Caminos de Ronda, an old route used by fishermen, guards and smugglers. From the most popular beaches in the area to the most inaccessible caves and cliffs.
To finish your day in beauty, take the opportunity to dive in the crystal clear waters, before to go straight back to your accommodation in Barcelona.
