Fascinating New York City Prohibition Tour
Join Alex on a NYC prohibition tour where we’ll skip the lines at some of New York's oldest pubs and taverns. We’ll look at America’s “Noble Experiment” from all angles, discussing topics like abolitionism, women’s suffrage, and the temperance movement. We’ll also examine 200 years of Progressivism in the United States, and debate which policies have landed on the right, and wrong side of history!
We’ll learn how each Saloon survived prohibition, while enjoying multiple beverages at each Tavern. The fee covers snacks and the first round at each stop, but there is no limit to the number of drinks the group orders. Classic American bar bites are also available at each tavern, with some snacks having historical connections to the Saloons themselves!
This experience includes a surprise ending, where we’ll imbibe the way so many politicians, artists, musicians, and writers did during prohibition. We’ll be served gin, bourbon, and bitters inside someone’s actual home!

We will visit one of the oldest Taverns in NYC and discuss its history while enjoying some house brewed ales. We'll learn all about New York City in the 19th century, during prohibition, and beyond.

Stop At: Gramercy Park, Gramercy Park, New York City, New York
We'll visit two more famous Taverns, learn how they survived Prohibition, and discuss 19th century movements like Abolitionism, Women's Suffrage, and Temperance. We'll enjoy another round of drinks and snacks at each Saloon!

Stop At: Greenwich Village, 14th Street and West of Broadway, New York City, NY 10003-5915
We'll stroll through Greenwich Village stopping by famous prohibition era social clubs, court houses, and jails. We may stroll by some celebrity homes as well!

Stop At: West Village, New York City, NY
Finally we'll visit a very famous filming location before ending the tour in a secret location. We'll imbibe the way so many artists, politicians, and writers did during Prohibition; inside a swanky West Village apartment!
