We drive along the Malevizi valley on the way to the South of Crete. We cross the village of St. Barbara in the heart of the island. We descend to the Messara valley, where more than 4.5 million olive trees grow. We drive up to the Asterousia mountain range of southern Crete, after which we go off-road (where no tourist has gone before and cross it in jeeps).

Note: during the journey, these places we pass by without stopping.

We stop at the observation deck at the peak of the mountains to admire the eagles and take a picture with the background of the canyon, and the Libyan Sea.

After, we descend along the edge of the canyon to the narrowest part of the gorge, 3 meters wide, and stop to learn more about it and take pictures.

We meet a local southern resident - a shepherd, and become a bit like him (we learn how to feed goats, milk them and catch them). Together with the shepherd, we cook fresh Cretan goat cheese in a cave. Cheese tasting.

We go to a home tavern on the coast of the Libyan Sea for lunch. Lunch & Swimming in the Tripitis beach. Also, we visit the local special church, which is honored throughout the island and every year a feast dedicated to the Virgin is held in it. We make a wish in the church in a traditional way. An old man (the owner of the tavern and the person who takes care of the church) sees us off in an old Cretan way.

We cross the mountains again and return to the starting point. Expensive back about 1 hour. And about 1 hour return to the hotel.
