Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Taj Mahal, Dharmapuri, Forest Colony, Tajganj, Agra 282001 India
The Taj Mahal sits on the banks of the holy Yamuna River within 42 acres of beautiful gardens. The domed mausoleum sits 52m above the river bank, surrounded by minarets on all four sides. It is flanked by a mosque and a guest house, both made from red sandstone and mirror images of each other.
As the light changes, so too does the colour of the Taj Mahal. One of the best times to visit is in the early hours when it is bathed in the ethereal glow of the morning light. As the sun rises, the marble changes from a soft golden hue to dazzling white, and as evening draws in, its character changes once again
What to do:
Visit the impossibly beautiful Taj Mahal. It is at its most magical at sunrise and sunset. There are also fewer people at these times so you can enjoy a much more intimate experience.
Admire the Taj Mahal from across the Yamuna River, its reflection shimmering in the water
Take a walking tour through the nearby villages for a glimpse into life in rural India
Explore Agra Fort
Duration: 3 hours
Stop At: Agra Fort Rakabgani, Agra 282003 India
Agra Fort is the second-most visited monument in the city, right after Taj Mahal in Agra. Agra used to be the capital of Mughal Empire and the fort was built as the royal residence. Previously also called as Badalgarh Fort. Later, this was one of the first monuments in the country to be tagged as a heritage site.
The fort as a whole is a fine example of Islamic and Hindu style of architecture with Gujarati and Bengali architectural structures inside. Most of the architectural features were destroyed by Shah Jahan to build marble palaces.

Stop At: Itmad-ud-Daula, Moti Bagh, Agra, Uttar Pradesh 282006, India
A front view of Itimad-ud-Daulah also called ‘Baby Taj’.
This stunning double-storey marvel in white is fondly known as the ‘Baby Taj’ and is perhaps one memory of Agra that you will carry with you. Itimad-ud-Daulah is made of marble and the construction was completed in 1628. Its dazzling splendour is best experienced during the hot afternoons, the marble keeps the insides cool. It is a square structure topped with four minaret like towers and has exquisite marble inlay work and latticed screens. Jahangir’s wife, Noor Jahan got this mausoleum built for her father Mirza Ghiyas Baig (who was also Jehangir’s chief minister.) Itimad-ud-Daulah has also been described as a ‘jewel box in marble.’
