Day 2: Itinerary time: (4.30am – 2.30pm) Sunrise- Angkor Wat Temple and Rolous Group

Afternoon, continue to visit Rolous Group. It was the site of the capital of Indravarman I from 877 to 889 AD. The three temples of the Rolous Group, Preah Ko, Bakong, and Lo Lei, differ from other early temples in that they are made of brick with carved plaster reliefs..
The Bakong is the first of the large mountain temples in Angkor. It belongs to the Roluos group, build at the end of the 9th century.
The Bakong and the other temples of the Roluos group, like the Preah Ko and the Lolei were built in Hariharalaya, an early capital of the Khmer empire. This area is now called Roluos, located North of Tonle Sap lake, about 15 kilometers East of Siem Reap.

Lolei temple is one of the temples which make up the Roluos group. It was built in the 9th century and was a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva.

Preah Ko, “the sacred bull”, is one of the oldest monuments in Angkor. The Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva is named after the bull Nandi, the mount of Shiva.
Built in 879, the Preah Ko is the oldest temple of the Roluos group of temples to which the Bakong, Prasat Lolei and Prasat Prei Monti also belong.
King Indravarman I built the temple in honor of his ancestors in the town of Hariharalaya, the old capital of the Khmer predating Angkor Thom by several centuries. The temple was cleared from the jungle in the 1930’s.

Day 3: Itinerary time 8:00am – 5:00pm Banteay Srei Group & Tonle Sap lake ( Floating Village)

Banteay Samre was built in the distinctive Angkor Wat style of construction and art and is a large, relatively low-rise temple. It was built around the same time as Angkor Wat, and the influence can be seen in the towers and railings which strongly resemble the towers of its larger and more famous cousin.
The features of Banteay Samre also resemble those of the ancient Khmer temple of Phimai in Thailand. Most of the bas-relief carvings are in very good condition. The temple has been extensively restored by archaeologists by completely taking it apart, and then reconstructing it.

Artisan d’Angkor, it is training ground for unschooled rural youth between 18 and 2 years of age in skills that allow them to make a living from handicraft production.
