The peasants dug holes of up to 2.5 m until they found fertile land and planted a vine strain in each of them, and in turn erected a semi-stone fence on the upper edge of each hole to prevent the wind, setting up a strange and beautiful landscape, one of the most characteristic of Lanzarote, and the best area of the island in the production of its famous volcanic malvasia wines.
We will stop at Bodega la Geria to taste these wines, where they can also buy a bottle if they wish. The photos in this place will be spectacular, bring your mobile. 30 minutes
