The central mosque of Almaty is one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in Kazakhstan. Built in 1999 on the site of an old mosque, functioning since 1890, it was included in the list of the main attractions of the city. The capacity of the mosque is designed for 7 thousand parishioners. The territory of the yard is 0.95 hectares. Neat lawns, flowers, benches and lanterns, in combination with stretched leaves of elm and always green firs, give the courtyard comfort and delight the eyes of visitors.

The ice skating rink Medeu, located at an altitude of 1691.2 meters above sea level, is known throughout the world. It was erected in 1972. The surface of the ice is 10.5 thousand square meters, which allows for competitions in speed skating, hockey and figure skating. The mild climate in the gorge, the optimal level of solar radiation, low atmospheric pressure, weak wind and clear glacial water - all this provided the high-mountain skating rink with wide popularity. More than 120 world records were established here by famous athletes. In recent years, the rink has improved after the modernization.
