Stop At: Gateway of India, Apollo Bandar, Colaba, Mumbai 400001 India

The Gateway of India in Mumbai should not be confused with the India Gate, the war memorial in New Delhi.

It is an arch-monument built in the early 20th century. It was erected to commemorate the landing of King-Emperor George V, the first British monarch to visit India, in December 1911.

It was used as a symbolic ceremonial entrance to India for important colonial personnel. It is also the monument from where the last British troops left India in 1948, following Indian independence on 15th August 1947.

It is located on the waterfront opposite the Hotel Taj Mahal Palace & overlooks the Arabian Sea. Today it is one of the main tourist attractions.

It is a gathering spot for locals, tourists, street vendors, photographers. The boats to the famous Elephanta Island Caves start from here.

You will get to take a walk around the sea facing promenade dotted with colorful boats & see the majestic monument & take some amazing pictures. It is buzzing with activity & a happy vibe of people.

Stop At: CSMT Heritage Museum, DN Road Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Area, Mumbai 400001 India

Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST Station), was formerly known as Victoria Terminus, is a historic railway terminus & UNESCO World Heritage Site in Mumbai.

The terminus is designed in an exuberant Italian Gothic style. Its construction was completed in 1887, marking 50 years of Queen Victoria's rule.

In 1996, its name was changed from Victoria Terminus to "Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus".

It is the headquarters of Indian Railways. It is the busiest railway stations in India serving as a terminal for both long-distance & suburban trains.

The more than 140 year old majestic CST Station is the oldest & biggest Railway Station in India.

We will take you to the selfie point especially made for tourists which will give you a breathtaking view of the exterior of the magnificent architecture & size of the Station.

This is a must see place when you are in Mumbai.

Dhobi Ghat is an open air laundry place. The washer-men, known as Dhobis, work in the open to clean clothes and linens from Mumbai's hotels, hostels, houses, hospitals, etc. It was constructed in 1890.

There are rows of open-air concrete wash pens, each fitted with its own flogging stone. Known to be the world's largest outdoor laundry, Dhobi Ghat is a very popular attraction among foreign tourists.

You will get to see the hardworking laundrymen at work from the viewing gallery especially made for tourists and get some memorable pictures of the colorful clothes being washed and dried at the open air laundry.

Stop At: Dabbawala Tribute Statue, 132 Tardeo rd, Haji Ali, Mumbai 400034 India

The Mumbai Dabbawalas (Lunchbox delivery men) are a lunchbox delivery and return system that delivers hot lunches from homes and restaurants to people at work all over Mumbai.

The lunchboxes are picked up in the late morning, delivered predominantly using bicycles and local trains, and returned empty later in the evening.

We show the travelers the world famous and legendary Mumbai Dabbawalas (THE LUNCH BOX DELIVERY MEN) actually working and going about sorting out and delivering the lunch boxes.

You will also get to take great pictures and also pose like a Dabbawala! ( Lunch Box delivery man).

Please note: This experience is not available on Sundays and Government Holidays as Dabbawalas are not required to deliver lunch boxes on holidays.

Stop At: Churchgate Railway Station, Church Gate Street, Mumbai India

The Churchgate Railway Station is one of the oldest local Railway Stations in Mumbai always busy with thousands of people traveling to their homes or places of work. Every 5 minutes, you will see a local train arriving or departing from this Station and it is buzzing with life, noise, positive energy and people running all over the place to board their trains.

Just outside the Churchgate Station, you will be shown the famous Mumbai Dabbawalas (Lunch box delivery people) at work.

Our guide will explain their way of working and the secrets of their processes which makes them so efficient and flawless.

Stop At: Mani Bhavan Gandhi Museum, 19 Laburnum Road Gamdevi, Mumbai 400007 India

Mani Bhavan is a museum & historical building dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi.

This historical place was the focal point of Gandhi's political activities in Mumbai between 1917 and 1934.
This house belonged to Gandhi's friend & host in Mumbai.
It was from here that Gandhi initiated the Non-Cooperation, Satyagraha movement.

You will visit this place & experience first hand, the house where the great man, Mahatma Gandhi lived in Mumbai.

Gandhi House is locally known as Mani Bhavan & has now been converted into a beautiful museum & you will get to know the life and times of the great man in an up, close and personal manner.

Several of his books, letters, articles, pictures & moments in his journey from his childhood to youth to non-violent struggle to independence and his final journey are displayed in a beautiful manner.

It is truly an unforgettable & spiritual experience that you will have while you are in the same house where Gandhi lived.

Stop At: Jain Temple - Mumbai, Ridge Road Walkeshwar, Mumbai India

The Jain temple located in the Malabar hill area of Mumbai is famous for the old carving work & beautiful architecture, colorful walls and paintings.

People who follow the Jain religion are peace loving, friendly and very social which you will find inside this temple.

Identifying a Jain person in city is very easy, They apply sandalwood tika (mark) on their forehead upon visiting such temples or at home. They wear special dhoti (a kind of wear) and go bare footed to Jain temples. Jainism is also famous for there strict diet following rules scientifically good for health.

The mystical and colorful Jain temple with intricate art work is one of the oldest and largest Jain temples in Mumbai. It is a popular place of religious significance built more than 100 years ago.

You will be allowed to go right inside the Jain Temple and see how the devout worshipers are offering prayers to their Lord.

The beautiful 5 km promenade along the road in South Mumbai locally known as Marine Drive is also known as the Queens Necklace as it is a C-shaped beautiful concrete promenade along the coast of a natural bay.

When viewed at night from an elevated viewing gallery constructed at the end of the promenade, the street lights resemble a string of pearls in a necklace, so it is also known as the Queens Necklace.
It is situated on a reclaimed land.

Throughout the day and especially in the evenings it is buzzing with thousands of local people from Mumbai with their families, children, friends and companions just chilling out, taking leisurely walks, sitting around facing the sea and enjoying the ocean view and fresh breeze coming on their face.

Its a blissful feeling one must experience while in Mumbai.

Sassoon Docks is a bustling and colorful fish market built in 1875 and is one of the oldest docks constructed in Mumbai.

This 145-year old incredible place is one of the few docks in the city open to the public and tourists. It is one of the largest fish markets in Mumbai city.

It overlooks Oyster Rock, an island in the Mumbai harbor at a distance.

Here you will get to see old and colorful fishing boats and the fishermen and fisher women in their colorful traditional clothes going about their daily work.

The 153 year old Crawford Market is one of Mumbai's most famous buzzing wholesale market selling a numerous variety of items from fresh fruits, vegetables, Indian spices, dry fruits, groceries, clothes, toys, artificial jewelry and a variety of other things.

It was built in 1869 and named after Arthur Crawford, the first Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai, this market was renamed to honor the great social reformer Mahatma Jyotirao Phule.

The market is buzzing with shopkeepers selling their stuff and the shoppers bargaining with them to get the best deals.

You get to smell the unique aromas of the world famous home-made Indian spices, fresh vegetables and colorful fruits.

This place is full of people, color, character and a photographers delight.

This lush green and picturesque vast garden is called Hanging Gardens because it is a terrace garden located on a hill slope of the posh Malabar Hill area of Mumbai.

The Hanging Gardens is also known as Pherozeshah Mehta Gardens are terraced gardens just opposite the Kamala Nehru Park.

They provide a breathtaking view of the sunset over the Arabian Sea and features numerous hedges carved into the shapes of animals.

This more than 140 years old park was built in 1881 over Mumbai's main water reservoir.

It is one of the favorite spots of the health conscious people of Mumbai to come for a walk, jog and breathe in some fresh air.

It is located very close to the historical Gateway of India and the famous Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.

It is a colorful and buzzing shopping street in Mumbai with great souvenirs, imitation jewelry, clothes and almost everything at cheap bargain prices. It is a shoppers delight.

It is a very crowded walking street / market which is great for low cost casual wear, fashionable accessories and various items for everybody.

This hidden gem of Mumbai, locally known as Bandra Fort is the 400 year old Castella de Aguada. It is a Portuguese fort located at an area called Lands End in Bandra which is known as the queen of the suburbs.

This fort offers a stunning view of the Bandra-Worli Sea Bridge and the Arabian Sea, especially during sunset. Many locals and tourists come here to spend quality time giving it a very happy and friendly vibe.

The Bandra Fort was built by the Portuguese in early 1640 AD to serve as a watchtower overlooking the Arabian Sea. During those days the fort guarded the northern sea route into Mumbai Harbor.

This exotic fort lies over several levels, from sea level to an altitude of 24 m (79 feet). Bandra Fort has been featured in hundreds of Bollywood films.

The Bandstand Promenade locally known as Bandstand is a 2 kilometer long walkway along the sea on the western coast of Mumbai in the beautiful neighborhood of Bandra where most of the Bollywood celebrities live.

It is an extremely popular hangout spot for local people from all age groups. It has a jogging track and a park.
Towards the middle of Bandstand is an amphitheater where locals watch amateur but talented singers, dancers and musicians perform live.

This is also the place where the living legend and sweetheart of the nation, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan also known as King Khan lives in his palatial mansion known as 'Mannat'.
Throughout the day thousands of people from all over the country visit Bandstand just to see his house from outside and to take a picture outside his gate while hoping to get a glimpse of their favorite actor.

The Basilica of Our Lady of the Mount, locally known as the Mount Mary Church is a Roman Catholic Church located in Bandra.

This Church is over 100 years old & stands on a hillock, about 80 meters above sea level overlooking the Arabian Sea.

It draws millions of devotees and pilgrims annually. Many of the faithful attest to the miraculous powers of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The shrine attracts people from all faiths who pray to the Virgin Mary for expressing their gratitude or requesting favors.

During the Mount Mary festival in September every year the entire area is decorated with festoons and buntings. Many pitch up stalls to sell religious articles, roasted grams, snacks and sweets. Wax figures of the Virgin Mary along with an assortment of colorful candles shaped like hands, feet and various other things are sold at kiosks.

Pass By: Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Mumbai 400030 India

The stunning and breathtaking Bandra–Worli Sea Link Bridge (officially known as Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link) is a 6 km long, 8-lane wide bridge that links Bandra in the Western Suburbs of Mumbai with Worli in South Mumbai. It is considered as an engineering marvel.

It is the 4th longest bridge in India and is unique because it is a cable-stayed bridge.

While driving past the bridge, you get to see the most beautiful view of the Arabian sea on one side and of the Manhattan style Mumbai skyline on the other side.

The iconic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel is a heritage, five-star luxury hotel in the Colaba area of Mumbai. It is situated right opposite to the Gateway of India.

The hotel is named after the world famous monument Taj Mahal, located in Agra city near Delhi.
