Bike is the most libertarian mean of transportation and probably the best way to explore new places. In 4 hours, you will be able to discover all sides of Athens city. Neighborhoods that you wouldn't afford visit by walking, places that touristic buses couldn't reach. You can have any infos from a local and after this bike tour you will be much more familiar with the city. If you visit Athens for first time and you like cycling, this is a must to do.

Itinerary

Starting from Flat Tyres shop, first stop will be at Plato’s Academy, founded in 387 BC. A smooth ride through the one-of-a-kind area of Metaxourgeio will follow. On our way to Syntagma square, we will get to see the Town Hall, 'Varvakios' market the traditional and biggest fish, meat and spicies market of Athens. The trilogy of neoclassical buildings (Academy, University, National Library) comes next. Reaching Syntagma Square, we will see the Greek Parliament and we will ride though the National Gardens towards our next stop, the Panathenaic Stadium, also known as Kallimarmaro. This is where the first modern Olympics took place back in 1896. Leaving the Kallimarmaro we’ll get ride through the Zappeion, and reach the Temple of Zeus. A couple of pedal spins will take us to the Museum of Acropolis located right under the sacred rock of the Parthenon. Time for a small break at the Filopappou Hill combined with a visit at Pnyka with panoramic view to Athens. Next stop, the Ancient Market. We’ll ride through the open market of modern Athens in the area of Monastiraki and through the paved streets of Psyrri we will reach our final stop, the archaeological site of Kerameikos.
