On our tour we take you to one of the most incredible places near town of Dalyan at Iztuzu beach – Sea Turtle Research Hospital and Rescue Center, which rescues and rehabilitates injured loggerhead turtles Caretta Caretta in Turkey – the largest hard-shell turtle in the world.

When we get to Dalyan then we will cruise down the River Dalyan on taxi boats. Dalyan river estuary will take us to another interesting point where we will refresh our skin with sulfuric mud baths.

Dalyan Mud Baths are one of the most popular activities in Dalyan. The Mud Baths are a fun activity, especially for children.
Dalyan mud baths are said to be good for rheumatism, lower back pain, and sciatica. Also, sulfur in the mud bath is effective against wrinkles and stretching your skin. For this reason, Dalyan mud bath, beauty mud or beauty bath is also called. According to the rumors, the Egyptian queen Cleopatra also made a mud bath in Dalyan and even owed its beauty to these baths.

The Ancient City Caunos (Kaunos) within the boundaries of the Koycegiz district was one of the most important port cities of the commercial region in the Ancient Age, but over time it has lost this feature. The ancient city of Caunos was known as “Kbid” until the 4th century BC, but it began to be called “Caunos” in the 6th century BC.
The greatest feature of Dalyan Caunos Ancient City is that it has rock tombs. The rock tombs were built in the 4th century BC and were also used in the Roman period. The ancient city of Caunos was founded in 1842 by the British archaeologist Hoskyn. Since Caunos tombs are located on rocks and impossible to reach, we'll take a closer look at it by our boat and listen to its story from our professional guide.

Iztuzu Beach is about five kilometers long. During the day people swim, walk, lie in the sun to the sound of the cramping waves, but at night a barrier comes down, and the beach is claimed back by nature; in particular by hundreds of Caretta Carettas, one of the oldest surviving species in the world, which lay their eggs there from May to September.
The Turtle Beach, which has been carefully protected by the people living in the region, has been declared a nature protection area. Serious efforts are being made to prevent damage to the turtle eggs.
While the places where the turtle eggs are located are marked by the officers, the beach is closed to the public entrance between 8:00pm and 8:00am. It is forbidden to light and make noise around the beach during these hours.

After the swim break at the Iztuzu beach, with the last part of the river cruise, we will return to our Private Vehicle and head back to Fethiye or Oludeniz.
