Start the tour with a morning walk along the Flysch coastal cliffs in Zumaia: The rock formations found here a natural piece of art of infinite geological and esthetic value. An ‘open book’ that shows us earth’s history throughout the last 60 million years! They were part of Game of Thrones scenery too.

Visit the cobbled streets and the harbor of this picturesque fishing village, home to txakoli (Basque White Wine) and to the best fresh grilled fish in Spain. Birthplace of Juan Sebastian Elcano (first man to circumnavigate the world) and Cristóbal Balenciaga (the most renowned ‘haute couture’ Spanish fashion designer of all time).

Stop At: Txakoli Elkano, Eitzaga Auzoa 24, 20808 Getaria Spain

Overlooking the fishing village of Getaria and the Atlantic Ocean, you will learn about the wine making process of Txakoli, from grape aging to bottling. Spoil your senses by tasting the different types of Txakoli in the winery along with the delicious and popular Anchovies of Getaria. Take a walk through the vineyard and meet the winery’s family in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.
