A perfect example is the so-called „Spomeniks “ – memorial structures and monuments built in the period between the 1950 s and 1990s during Tito’s Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Their purpose was to honor people’s resistance and suffering during WWII. Today those monuments can be found scattered all around the countries of former Yugoslavia.
