Description

As a certified wine expert, I have worked long and hard to find wines and cheeses that are a perfect match.

All selected wines are purchased from small winemakers and the cheeses are made from raw milk (which gives a unique taste - we do not serve pasteurized cheese).

I am also fluent in English wine vocabulary, so I can accurately convey what I am offering in the description of this experience.

All in all, I love to exchange and learn from my guests, so we will have a pleasant moment of exchange in which I will gladly share my knowledge of the French wine world.

A little extra, this tasting will take place in a cheese factory located in the historic district of Lyon. The cheese maker will present the history of French cheese and her way of working.

Kind regards,

Hugo

Sample Menu

• First part of the tasting : A contrasted pairing - Champagne - Cheese is a product with a pronounced taste, while champagne is more refined. The bubbles of the Champagne will erase the fatty side of this cheese.
• Second part of the tasting : A terroir pairing - Sancerre & Chavignol - The Chavignol cheese reveals a dry texture. The intensity and length of its aromatic persistence will require a white wine with a sharp acidity.
• Third part of the tasting - Discovery of 3 French red wines - The three wines will be from the same grape variety but from different regions. One will be an old vintage and one will have a fault.

• Fourth part of the tasting - Blue cheese and Liquorous - Oscillating between sweetness and saltiness, blue cheese will require wines that are as charismatic as they are sweet.

• Fifth part of the tasting : Vin Jaune et Comté - A Vieux Comté and a yellow wine offer a duo like no other, out of the ordinary.

Inclusions

  • Alcoholic Beverages - Seven wines including one Champagne, one white wine, three reds wines, one sweet wine and one "Vin Jaune"
  • Dinner - 5 different cheeses including goat, cow and sheep. Charcuterie including terrine, sausage and truffle butter as well as organic bread.
  • Tasting booklet
