In addition to the Sintra Mountains and the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, the parishes of the city of Sintra are full of royal refuges, royal estates, castles and other buildings, including the medieval Castelo dos Mouros, Pena National Palace and the National Palace of Sintra.
