Description
Itinerary
We guarantee you will be enthralled by the unspoiled beauty of Kohala, the northernmost region of the Big Island. Perched among lofty trees, this canopy park features soaring tree platforms, 6 elevated suspension bridges, and 8 thrilling ziplines. Exclusive features, such as the twin WhisperLines™, ensure you'll hear the sounds of the forest, not the sound of metal on metals from the ziplines.
After your aerial trekking, your adventure continues to explore a private mountain stream with waterfalls and ancient Hawaiian agricultural sites. Your destination is the Kohala Ditch Trail, built in the early 1900s to irrigate the surrounding former sugar plantation. Hike approximately 1.0 mile (1.6 km), passing blasted-out tunnels, ditches and an old aqueduct while your guide shares the history of the plantation and the construction of its impressive irrigation system. Throughout the moderately challenging hike, see multiple Kohala waterfalls. Stop at the last fall for a chance to jump into the refreshing pool. Take a break and enjoy a picnic lunch at a breathtaking private picnic area overlooking lush green valleys and 1,000 ft. sea cliffs plunging into the ocean.
