Pass By: Nesjavallavirkjun, Tryggvagata 34, 805 Selfoss, Iceland
We will pass through Nesjavellir where Iceland's second largest geothermal station is located. This is the supply of hot water for the capital region used for central heating and electricity generation. On our way to Nesjavellir we drive alongside the hot water pipe which runs from the power plant to the city. (This route is only passable during summer time).
Stop At: Thingvellir National Park, Thingvellir Iceland
Thingvellir national park is a UNESCO World Heritage attraction where nature meets history. This is the setting of Althing, the worlds oldest parliament founded in 930AD by the viking settlers in Iceland. You can enjoy an easy hike down Almannagja gorge where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates are pulling apart.

Stop At: Efstidalur II - Kaffihús/ísbúð, South, 6CRX+X7J, 806 Reykholt, Iceland
This is an optional lunch stop. Efstidalur farm restaurant and café offers a full menu made from the produce of the farm. Enjoy a freshly caught trout from a nearby lake, a leg of lamb, beef steak or even original beef burgers. Downstairs you can enjoy home made dairy ice cream. From the farm you have a window view into the barn and by the entrance you can pet the friendly calves and collie dogs.

Stop At: Geysir, Haukadalur Iceland
The Geysir geothermal area contains multiple hot springs and geysers. Strokkur is the biggest one shooting a column of water 15-30 meters (up to 98 ft.) into the air every 8-10 minutes. Next to the geopark you can find a visitor centre with restaurants, a shop and a multimedia exhibition.

Stop At: Gullfoss Waterfall, Blaskogabyggd Iceland
Gullfoss waterfall tumbles and plunges into a crevice some 32 meter (105 ft.) deep. The waterfall falls from the river Hvítá and offers exceptional scenery and views showing the true beauty of Iceland’s nature.

Stop At: Kerid Crater, Route 35, Selfoss Iceland
Kerid is a crater with red gravel and a pond in the bottom. This is a very scenic spectacle offering photo opportunities. The crater is 55 meters deep and the pond is 7-14 meters deep.
