The museum consists of several buildings, including a traditional house, a water mill, and a threshing floor, that have been restored and adapted for the exhibition of different aspects of local life. Visitors can explore the museum and learn about the traditional agricultural practices, handicrafts, and folklore of the Barroso region.

The Wolves Fojo of Fafião: A "Fojo" is a traditional hunting method used in Portugal and Spain to trap wolves and other predators, typically using a funnel-shaped pit with walls that gradually narrow towards the bottom. The Wolves Fojo of Fafião is one of the few remaining examples of this traditional hunting technique in Portugal.

Pedra Bela Viewpoint: The viewpoint offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the park's mountains, valleys, and forests. It's a great spot for photography and nature watching.
Here, the landscape is an authentic natural amphitheatre, against the backdrop of the bridges of Rio Caldo and the entire reservoir of Caniçada.

In addition to the refreshing shade of cedars and birches, it is also possible to find a small fountain and several tables to stop for a snack, while contemplating the landscape.

Explore the Gerês Village: This picturesque village is located on the banks of the Homem River and is a great place to taste local cuisine. The meat of the Gerês cows is highly prized for its tenderness and flavor, and it is used in many traditional Portuguese dishes, such as "cozido" (a stew made with various meats and vegetables) and "churrasco" (grilled meat).

The Waterfall of Leonte is formed by the collapse of the waters of the Taleira stream, from the top of a granite rock cliff at 19 meters, on the bed of the Gerês River. In summers with periods of drought, the flow of the waterfall may disappear.

Portela do Homem Waterfall: The waterfall is formed by the Homem River, which flows down the rocky slope and creates a stunning cascade of water. Visitors can relax and take in the beauty of the surroundings, as well as take a refreshing swim in the natural pool that forms at the base of the waterfall.
