Salamis Naval Battle, the most important battle which established Democracy..

Our tour will start in the famous Pnyx a place used for popular assemblies in Athens. Athenian democracy, on Pnyx giving chance to more than 30000 citizens to listen or express their opinion about the common things, was one of fundamentals parts for Democracy.

We will continue to explore the famous history of Trireme ship that was used by Athenians at that era. We will come to understand the significant role played in all naval battles of that time.

On this final stage of our journey we would have covered all the important historical points of the Salamis naval battle, we shall then visit the Throne of Xerxes from this point we will be able to see the exact place where the naval battle took place.

Stop At: Pnyx, Philopappos Hill, Athens Greece

Our tour leader will inform and explain to the visitors the importance of Pnyka.

Stop At: Hellenic Maritime Heritage Park, Flisvos, Paleo Faliro 17510 Greece

Visitors will see the Athenian trireme Olympias up close and learn its history and how important a ship it was for those years.

Duration: 40 minutes

Stop At: Ποικίλο Όρος, Poíkilo, Chaidari 124 61, Greece

Mount Aigaleo ( Poikilo Oros): Visitors will have the opportunity to see up close where the 'Throne of Xerxes' was, with the site of the Battle of Salamis in front of the horizon.
