Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Marrakech to Boumalne Dades Valley via High Atlas Mountains and Ait ben Haddou

Pass By: Marrakech, Marrakech, Marrakech-Safi
Marrakech enjoys a legend status, which conveys the ideas of mystery, sensuality, and exoticism. Its influence and fame have been so strong and intense in the history of Morocco, that as a matter of fact the country was named after the city. Our guide will pick you up from your Marrakech hotel at 7.15 a.m. and escort you to the departure point. We will travel over the Atlas Mountain range and descend into the Kasbah at Ait Ben Haddou.

Stop At: Ait Ben Haddou, Ait Ben Haddou, Souss-Massa
In this exciting and thrilling tour around the eastern half of Morocco you will travel in style in a modern air-conditioned minibus. The Kasbah (there are actually six of them within a walled city) is a place of wonder. Here you will feel almost like you have stepped back in time to the days of gladiators, desert nomads and ancient trading markets. Lunch on the first day will be taken in the Kasbah at Ait Ben Haddou after.

Our next stop on our first day will be at Ouarzazate. We will admire the scenery of a city where several blockbuster movies have been filmed. Classics like The Mummy and Lawrence of Arabia are among the many films which have taken in a city often called “The Gateway to the Desert”.

In the desert’s gateway city we can take stop at a café before venturing on to the Dades Valley. Once here you can relax and unwind at a private guesthouse in Dades with en-suite bathroom and enjoy the culinary delights of a Moroccan evening dinner.

Day 2: Drive from Boumalne Dades Valley to Merzouga via Tinghir and Todra Gorge

Stop At: Gargantas del Todra, Tinerhir 45800 Morocco
Morning drive to Merzouga via Tinghir, near the town of Tineghir, the Toudra and Dades rivers have carved out a narrow canyon known as the Toudra Gorge, along the last 40 kilometers to through the mountains. The gorge presents its most spectacular form about 15 km from Tinghir. Here, in an extension of 600 meters, the walls of the gorge close to a mere 10 meters of distance between them, while they rise, smooth and perpendicular, up to 160 meters on each side. The massive rock walls are said to change color as the hours of the day go by.

Stop At: Merzouga, Merzouga, Draa-Tafilalet
Merzouga, the small desert town in Morocco, is a real travel highlight and belongs to the fixed program of almost every round trip. This is the right place if you want to do a desert tour with camel trekking in Morocco, Because in this part of the country is the Sahara with the most spectacular sand dunes. The dunes of Merzouga, the so-called Erg Chebbi dunes, can be up to 180 meters high here. The best way to experience this breathtakingly beautiful scenery is on the back of a camel. A fantastic experience, which you will not forget so quickly.

Day 3: Drive from Merzouga to Marrakech via Ouarzazate and high atlas mountains

Stop At: Ouarzazate, Ouarzazate, Draa-Tafilalet
Morning drive to Marrakech via Ouarzazate. You will also venture off into a magical world and discover Morocco’s most spectacular historical legacies of wealth and power, Ouarzazate. Ouarzazate is a small town in the middle of a bare plateau in southern Morocco. It is mostly populated by Imazighen (Amazigh people), who are responsible for the construction of assorted fortified dwellings like Kasbahs and Ksours for which the whole region is famous. You will travel through the Atlas Mountains to the famous "Hollywood of Africa" with its spectacular Kasbahs and Caravans routes, offering breath-taking views at every turn until you reach the “Door of the Majestic desert”. Arrival in Marrakech is expected around 8.00 p.m.
