We visit the Kampot Pepper farm. La Plantation is the largest and the perfect place to learn the history of Kampot Pepper and understand how it is produced traditionally and organically. You will understand why Kampot Pepper has been elected as the #1 best pepper in the world by chefs and foodies for more than a century. La Plantation is the only place to discover and taste a full range of Kampot peppers and spices organically grown at the farm.

Stop At: Phnom Chhngok Cave Temple, Off to road to Kep, Kampot 07000 Cambodia
Then, we drive to Phnom Chhngok Cave Temple. Traveling there on the winding dirt road, especially by motorcycle, could be very tiring. However, passing past scenic views of the Cambodian countryside, featuring paddy fields, small farms and limestone formations covered in dense vegetation, should suitably compromise. The mountain is a hulking limestone karst, which houses many hidden chambers, rocky outcrops, and stalactites, formed by calcium carbonate solution. The largest cave is the home of an ancient red-brick temple resting under a massive rock formation resembling an eagle. Phnom Chhngok Cave temple was probably erected during the 7th century, particularly within the pre-Angkorian era known as the Funan period in Cambodia.

Stop At: Salt Fields, Kampot Cambodia
We move to the Kampot salt fields. You will see how the farmers work on the salt fields. Cambodia exports a variety of goods, including salt products. Cambodia is capable of producing enough salt for domestic use as well as export. The majority of the goods are produced in Kampot, which is close to the sea.
Salt production is from around the beginning of December to April.

The crab market in Kep province is the most famous seafood in Cambodia for domestic and international tourists. The atmosphere inside Kep Crab Market is always hectic and bustling from day till night. Coming to the village just to visit and pass through the crab market without tasting any crabs is an extremely big mistake. You may get overwhelmed by the fact that Kep Crab Market offers some of the freshest crabs in the whole world! In particular, the crab and seafood combined with the flavor of Kampot hot pepper are considered by many tourists as the perfect combo. You must try them when you have a chance to cross by the market.
