Sherpa Camp is based in the wilderness area of DDCR - a 225-square-kilometre area that has been protected for 23 years with very restricted access. Sand Sherpa is the only company permitted to operate a camp here. Adventurers stay in private locations throughout undulating dunes and amidst trees, but within easy access to bathroom facilities and our main camp area, where dinner and breakfast is served.

Each camping trailer is equipped with a rooftop tent, outdoor sofa, firepit, cooler, barbeque grill and more! Guests are transferred between their hotel/residence and camp by our guide and once they enter the reserve, they enjoy a scenic drive on our specially prepared track to camp.

Bush meals are prepared for campers, including salad, burgers and pizza, while bedding is also ready in their tents.

An evening nature walk is optional with our camp leader, while in the morning, participants are also invited to a hawk walk to identify animal tracks that have appeared overnight.

Itinerary

DAY 1

14:15: Pick up from hotel/residence (for guests booking transfers). The exact pick-up time will be confirmed at least 48 hours before the experience.
15.30: Vehicles clear into the reserve
15.45 -16.00: Stop off at lookout point for briefing
16.00 - 17.00: Safari drive
17.00 - 17.30: Familiarisation with the camp and trailers
17.30 onwards: At your leisure
18:30: Dinner served at main tent
19:30: Guides will light your individual campfires
20:30: Nighttime scavenger hunt

DAY 2
07:30: Hawk walk through the ghaf tree forest
08:30: Breakfast served at main tent
10:00: Departure
