Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1: Cusco - Lares hot baths - Cuncani - Huacawasi

Stop At: Aguas Termales de Lares, Lares Peru
6:00 am, departure from your hotel in mini van, destination: Lares Valley (Cuncani at 3,750m) starting point for the hike. Stopover in Calca between Cusco and Lares, breakfast and visit to the typical market where you can buy some school supplies for the children that we will come across during our walk. When we get to Lares, with the possibility of bathing in the hot springs if that tells you, while the cooks prepare a delicious lunch.
After Lares, we continue in our mini van to Cuncani (3,750m) where we will then start the hike through this magnificent valley. We will continue our hike by taking the vestiges of the Inca path, in progressive climb, in order to discover high hills at the Col de Cuncani at 4,200m (good training for the next day).
We will reach the first camp at Huacawasi (3,800m) and during the afternoon we will get to know our mule drivers and their families. This will be an opportunity to discover the culture of this Andean village, we will show you the techniques of traditional weaving and you will share a traditional dinner. The first night we will spend it near the house of one of the muleteers of our team, the tents will be installed or you can choose to stay overnight with the locals. Hot drinks and appetizers before the meal.

Day 2: Day 2: Huacawasi - Huacahuasi C'asa Pass - Laguna Aruray Cocha - Laguna Yurak Cocha - Pucara

Stop At: Lares Trek, 08002 Peru
After breakfast, we will walk to the highest point, the Huacawasi C'asa pass at 4500m above sea level. It will be the most physical part of the hike, with rewards of high mountain scenery, snow capped peaks, streams, a mosaic of farmland and breathtaking views. Be careful, be prepared for temperature drops.
After crossing the pass, we will descend to the edge of a magnificent lake for a hearty lunch, prepared by our cook. Then we will continue downhill to Mantanay (3,480m), through the forest of Queuñas (Polylepis), a nature reserve, rich in flora and birds. Then, after an additional 2.5 hours of walking, we will reach our campsite in Pucara (3000m), in a quiet location with improved tents, campfires and amenities.

Day 3: Day 3: Pucara - Sacred Valley - Ollantaytambo - Village of Aguas Calientes

Stop At: Lares Trek, 08002 Peru
Departure from the village of Pucara at 7:30 am, a shuttle will take us to Pachar (Sacred Valley), starting point for a hike in a splendid setting where we will take the Inca path and archaeological sites (the Ruins of Pinkulluna) to Ollantaytambo, in the Sacred Valley. Stopover during the hike for lunch, last meal prepared by our cook.
After saying goodbye to the team of cooks and porters, we will visit the village of Ollantaytambo, and those who wish can visit the archaeological site (70s / more - not included). Later at 1 p.m. or 7 p.m., we will take the train to the village of Aguas Calientes, located at the foot of Machu Picchu, where we will spend the night at the hotel.

Day 4: Day 4: Aguas Calientes - Sanctuary of Machu Picchu - Cusco

Stop At: Machu Picchu, Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Cusco Region
We will leave our hotel in Machu Picchu after breakfast around 5.30 am by bus. We are leaving so early because at this time there will be fewer people, and in the morning is a great time to enjoy the calm and the ancient spirits of the continent's best known archaeological site. At the citadel around 6:00 am, our guide will make us discover all the secrets of Machu Picchu and its history and the ceremonies that were celebrated there. Then you will have enough time to enjoy and explore the site on your own (for example: going to the Inca Bridge, exploring the variety of buildings or climbing Waynapicchu for a panoramic view). A bus will take you back to Aguas Calientes. There you will have the opportunity to go to the warm waters of the city (10.00 soles at the entrance). We will leave Aguas Calientes in the afternoon by train to Ollantaytambo, where a bus will be waiting to take you to your hotel in Cusco.
