Have you ever wondered what if feels like to breathe underwater? Shore diving on Maui offers the perfect conditions to try diving for your first time. Under the guidance of your dedicated instructor, you will learn about the basics of diving, practice a series of skills in shallow water to get comfortable with breathing and how to use the equipment before continuing for an exhilarating scuba dive. We often see turtles, eels, and large schools of tropical fish! The entire Introductory Dive experience takes about 2.5 hours.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TO AVOID EXPULSION FROM THE ACTIVITY:

Ocean Swimming Ability is REQUIRED to complete this dive.

You must wait at least 18 hours to fly, zipline, or ascend to Haleakala AFTER your dive(s).

Before your lesson begins, you will be required to fill out a medical statement confirming that you are in good health to dive. You must be able to answer "NO" to each question. A "YES" ON THE MEDICAL STATEMENT WILL REQUIRE A DOCTOR CLEARANCE TO DIVE. Google "PADI Medical Form" to review ahead of time and make sure all answers are NO.

FAILURE TO ADHERE TO EACH OF THE ABOVE 3 STATEMENTS WILL LEAD TO REMOVAL FROM THE EXPERIENCE WITHOUT A REFUND.

• Not recommended for pregnant travelers
• No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
• Minimum age to participate is 10
• Guests should be able to carry a minimum of 30lbs for a short distance
• After diving you must wait 18 hours to fly or ascend to 1,000 feet or more
• Guests MUST be proficient at swimming in order to complete this activity. If you show up for diving and cannot swim, you forfeit your participation in the experience as well as your right to a refund.
• Must be able to answer NO to each question on the Medical Statement. A YES answer requires a doctor clearance. Failure to secure a doctor clearance when needed forfeits the ability to dive and the right to a refund. Please contact Banyan Tree Divers ahead of time for a copy of the medical form if you have any health concerns that might affect your ability to dive.
• Transportation not included. Please let us know if you will not have a rental car.
• Not recommended for travelers with asthma or sinus medical conditions
• Proficient SWIMMING ABILITY IS REQUIRED. This means that each student must be able to swim unassisted in the ocean.
• Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
• Hand sanitizer available to travelers and staff
• Gear/equipment sanitized between use
• Guides required to regularly wash hands
• Contactless payments for gratuities and add-ons
• While scuba diving involves minimal physical contact with guests, your immediate safety is our first priority. Thus, we are unable to promise consistent social distancing during your dive experience. All gear is sanitized before and after use.
• This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund
• This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund
• This tour/activity will have a maximum of 4 travelers
• Confirmation will be received at time of booking
