Auburn Avenue African American Half Day All Inclusive Tour is designed to give guests an overview of Black life and culture in Atlanta, starting from Juneteenth/Emancipation Day,1865 to Atlanta modern Civil Rights Movement, 1965. Heavy emphasis will be placed on Rosenwald educational system for Black students in Atlanta and Booker T Washington who was known as the Great Black Educator. Come and see the relationship between Alonzo Herndon, George Washington Carver, and Julius Rosenwald Foundation.
Guests will see Atlanta Historic Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), Georgia's first Black public high school and America's first Black city park.

Stop At: Herndon Home, 587 University Pl NW, Atlanta, GA 30314-4126

The Historic Herndon Mansion Museum built in 1910 by Alonzo Herndon and wife Adrianne Herndon. Alonzo Herndon was born/enslaved in 1858 on a plantation in Georgia. Alonzo Herndon story is a story of success and dignity. Come to the Herndon Home and see how a man overcame racism and enslaved to become Georgia first Black millionaire.

Stop At: Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, 450 Auburn Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30312-1504

Martin Luther King Jr., National Historic Park is located on Auburn Avenue Street, this street was once considered the wealthiest Black street in America. Guests will see the community of young Martin Luther King Jr. Martin was born in his Grandfather Rev Alfred Daniel Williams home, this home and community has been restored back to represent the first twelve years of Martin Luther King Jr.

Stop At: Booker T. Washington High School, 45 Whitehouse Dr SW, Atlanta, GA 30314-2934

Booker T Washington High School is a must see, Georgia first Black public high school named after that world famous educator Booker T Washington. Guest will see how education, a small southern town, and communities provided education for Black students prior to emancipation. See how this small community provide normal Education and college level classes for a deprived community through the Rosenwald foundation.

Guests will ride through the HBCU, Historic Black Colleges and Universities, Guests will see WEB Dubois statue situated on our famous "Atlanta Student Movement Street", Spelman College, Morehouse College, Ray Charles Performing Arts Center, Clark Atlanta University, and historic West End village, the beginning of the city of Atlanta.

Stop At: Ponce City Market, 675 Ponce de Leon Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30308-1884

A must see, Atlanta old Sears building is the new Ponce City Market. This is the new hip thing to hit Midtown Atlanta.
