Must-do! The Abandoned Valley and E Cave 01 day trek is designed for those with just a day to explore the wild but still looking for an escape to the jungle along with adventure and of course, a beautiful cave. This tour highlights 12km of the Ho Chi Minh trail, through the Abandoned Valley, exploring the national park tropical forest, swimming, and exploring Gold Cave with system of wild stalactites, and "Trẹ" Cave (also called the Aquarium Cave) where is one of the most pristine river caves in the Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park as it is situated in a completely unspoiled environment. The Abandoned Valley with an area of 2,000 ha, converging many forms of terrain, from limestone mountains, non-Karst terrain, flat land, caves to underground streams and primeval forests. More specifically, Abandoned Valley is a hidden place of biological diversity. It is an opportunity for us to better understand the biodiversity values of the world natural heritage forest of Phong Nha National Park.

Stop At: Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, Quang Binh Province

7:00 Pick up at Dong Hoi City and 8.00 pick up at Phong Nha and transfer to Moc Nam Base.
8:00 – 8:30 Brief meeting to plan the trip, clarify rules and regulations in the National Park, then to warm our body before trekking.
9:00 – 11:00 Once you are ready, we head directly to ‘Nuoc Lan’ cave Exploration – the jungle exit of Dark Cave
If you view from a distance, ‘Nuoc Lan’ Cave will look like a wine bottle of the old ancestors. It is surrounded by groves of trees growing from rocky mountains. High ceilings are structured by black limestone but more surprisingly when the stalactites flowing down from the ceiling are primitive white.
● Climb over sharp rocks

11:30 Reach to Aquarium Cave – called E Cave
E Cave is one of the most beautiful and pristine river caves in the Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park as it is situated in a completely unspoiled environment.
● Free jump and swim in the blue natural springs
● Explore E Cave as a Aquarium, with colorful stalactites, with lovely shapes, creating a mysterious feature.
● Swim into E Cave to explore 300m E Cave (optional)
12.30 Enjoy BBQ lunch
We will enjoy a warm tea after finishing swimming and have local BBQ lunch with grilled pork/chicken and special salt, rice/sticky rice, fruit, vegetables,…
Resting in the forest
14.00 Start trekking to be back Ho Chi Minh road.
16.00 Arrive at Ho Chi Minh road, enjoy cold drink on the road
16.30 Drive back Phong Nha and your hotels in Phong Nha.

  • Basic canvas trekking boots (only if you do not have your own pair) sizes 36 – 46
  • Shared dry box for phones and small cameras (limited availability for larger cameras). Dry box is prepared in case of high water level.
